1. Add a new Nintendo user

You need to create a new user in your Nintendo Switch, which you will use to play and login to Pokemon Unite.

Select the gear icon to Go to System Settings from the Nintendo Switch home screen.
Scroll to Users from the left.
Select Add User from the right pane.
Select Create New User.
Select any icon from the collection.
Give a name to the user.
Select OK to save changes.

Now your new Nintendo Switch user is created. Next, you need to create a new Nintendo account.

2. Create a Nintendo Account

As all the data is linked to the Nintendo Account, You need a new Nintendo account to start Pokemon Unite all over again.

Here’s how to create a new Nintendo account:

Go to Nintendos official website from a browser.
Go to the signup page.
Give your information.
Accept the End User Agreement.
Click on Submit.
Get the verification code from the email and type it in the box. Submit the code.

Your new Nintendo account is ready for use now. Now you need to link the new user and the account in Nintendo Switch.

3. Link Nintendo account to the new Nintendo user

Linking the new Nintendo account to the new user will enable you to start Pokemon Unite again. So you will achieve your goal of resetting Pokemon Unite.

Select the gear icon on the home screen to go to User Settings.
Scroll on the left to select Users.

4. Delete the old Nintendo user

Select User Settings from the home screen.
Scroll to Users from the left.
Select the user you wish to delete from the right.
Scroll to the bottom and select Delete User.
Check the box beside the Delete option.
Select Next.
Confirm to delete the user.

Though you have deleted the Nintendo user, your old Nintendo Switch account will stay active unless you delete it manually.

5. Delete the old Nintendo account

Deleting the old Nintendo account will ensure all old progress in Pokemon Unite is gone for good.

Here’s how to delete a Nintendo account:

Go to Nintendos official website from a browser.
Sign in to your old account.
Click on Other Settings from the left.
Select Delete Account from below.
Click on Deactivate and Delete.
Type your password again and hit OK.
Click on Confirm Account Deletion.

Your Nintendo account is now enrolled for deletion. It will remain inactive for four weeks. If you do not sign back in within these four weeks, it will be deleted permanently.

Why Can You Not Reset Account Directly In Pokemon Unite?

You cannot reset your account directly in Pokemon Unite because all the data are linked to the Nintendo account. The data is not saved locally or with the Nintendo user. So for a fresh start in Pokemon Unite, you need a new Nintendo account.

In the beginning, developers launched the Pokemon Unite beta version on Nintendo Switch. Everyone needed to log in to the game using the Nintendo account.

The process is still the same to this date. Gamers who are playing on Nintendo Switch have to link their Pokemon Unite account to the Nintendo account.
