#Fix 4. Use SFC and DISM to Repair System Files

Sometimes the problem is caused by missing or corrupted files, and it is one of the most prevalent causes of app malfunctioning. Luckily Windows 11 has a feature known as System File Checker (SFC) to check missing or corrupted files and repair or fix them automatically.

Follow these steps to use SFC:

  • Press Windows key and search cmd.
  • Right-click on Command Prompt and hit Run as administrator.
  • In the command prompt window, type sfc /scannow and hit enter to run the command. After the scan, if the file checker finds any corrupted file, it will automatically fix it.

  • If that did not work for you, then run this command Dism/Online/Cleanup-Image/RestoreHealth in the command prompt.
  • After the command completes, restart your computer to start the app newly.

After restarting the computer try relaunching the app. This time it should start working just fine.

With a bootable Windows 11 USB drive, you can repair upgrade your OS. Do not be scared as it will only reinstall and repair update your Windows to the newest version keeping all the data intact.
