Can Someone Find My IP Through Discord?
Nobody can find your IP address through Discord. Discord masks users’ IP by redirecting their activities through a remote server without unauthorized access. If anyone tries to find an IP, they will find an IP owned by Discord, not the actual user.
Discord follows various precautions to avoid any chance of leaking it’s users’ info out on the web. Several layers of security are applied for users’ safety, privacy, and security.
Users only need to share the essential information to create a Discord account, and any sensitive info will be secured to Discord’s server away from lurking perverts.
But, it’s totally impossible to obtain an IP address via Discord.
If you’re worried about some hobo threatening to find your IP address and find your location, just tell him to bugger off somewhere else and forget about him.
There’s no way to acquire your IP address, and the only way to do that is to hack into Discord’s server as Discord follows the client-server policy. That means all your activities, such as calling, chatting, and streaming, are relayed to other users through it’s servers first and then to the other end.
Also, nobody can find your IP from a Discord voice call because all voice communication goes from you to Discord, then from Discord to everyone else in the voice call. So, if anyone tries to track someone’s IP address from Discord voice call, they would just see Discord’s IP.
So, in simple words, there is no way of tracking your IP through Discord.

Is it Safe to Use Discord?
It is safe to use Discord. Discord is one of the safest social communication platforms that uses several layers of security to protect users’ privacy and maintain a secure user experience for everyone. Also, Discord admins always watch for people who violate Discord’s rules and ban them.
Nobody can acquire anything about you through Discord as everything is protected and channeled through Discord’s servers. Even sending a link to an image makes Discord’s CDN cache the image, and you get the image from Discord rather than from the website linked.
There are several security measures that Discord follows to keep the user’s info secured. I’ve made a list of them with a short explanation to convince you about Discord’s security.
Here are Discord’s security measures for users’ privacy and safety:
Client-Server
Discord uses a client-server architecture for all user activities, including voice and text communication. So, your IP is kept securely locked down and out of sight from any immoral person, which means you’re safe from DDOS attacks.
Again, all image and link preview people post are proxied through our system, which means your IP address is double safe.
Furthermore, Discord will show you a warning message if you’re about to leave Discord for some potentially harmful link.
IP Location Lock
In Discord, after verifying your account, it will require your confirmation via email if there are any further log-in attempts from different IPs than your usual one.
It’s like having a security companion or assistant that’ll be alerting you when there’s something fishy or different than usual.
It’s a pretty handy feature lacking in most popular social media platforms.
Two Factor Authentication
The Discord’s security features star is the two-factor authentication (2FA) system. It requires you to authenticate your log-ins by entering different codes available on a separate device to ensure additional security of your account.
Also, Discord servers can require their moderators to enable the 2FA, preventing any bad guys from getting into an admin’s account and spoiling the user’s experiences.
Streamer Mode
Discord is a popular choice for streamers. It offers the Streamer Mode, which automatically detects when you open OBS or XSplit apps for streaming and hides your sensitive information within Discord’s UI. For example, your email, Discord tag, and invite links.
This feature can be turned on manually in Discord user settings.
File Warnings and Virus Scanning
Discord also has the feature of warning you when you’re about to download a stray app from any server. It’ll warn you about the potential harm the file can cause upon installation.
Also, Discord has Virus Scanning, automatically scanning uploaded executables and archives to ensure the file is safe before you download it.
So, in conclusion, I’ll say using Discord is pretty safe than most of the social communication platforms in my eyes. Also, when you can get a VoIP-based communication platform offering far better voice and video call quality than any other similar app, it’s hard to bargain and discourage it’s use.
How to Protect Your Privacy and IP on Discord
Don’t get me wrong, after reading the title of this section. Nobody can find your IP directly from Discord, but they can lure you to something outside Discord and grab your IP.
Although Discord is pretty safe to use and excellent at securing your info, it cannot provide you any safety once you’re outside of Discord. That’s why bad guys lure you outside of Discord and then track user IP.
Fortunately, I’ve found some ways that’ll provide you with additional safety while using Discord and protecting your personal information. I’m listing them below for you to follow them.

Here are the methods to protect your privacy and IP on Discord:
Use a VPN for Discord
Always use a VPN to provide an extra layer of security while using Discord. In this way, no one can track your IP, not even with WireShark IP Filter software.
But, remember one thing, Discord uses the User Datagram Protocol, and it only connects with proxy servers that use UDP.
So, while choosing a VPN for Discord, ensure that it supports UDP. Otherwise, you won’t be able to use Discord. And, without a UDP-supported VPN, Discord will show you RTC Connecting forever.
Do not Click any Suspicious Link
Nobody can get an IP address through any software within discord, including calls, because all traffic is first routed through discord’s servers.
But, people can get your IP address if you click any malicious external link. It’ll take you to an IP-grabber website that logs your IP address and expose you to the bad guys.
So, never click on any link in Discord public chats to protect your privacy. Discord will protect your privacy as long as you’re within their platform but, once you click on any suspicious link that grabs IP addresses, you’re exposed to the bad guys.

How to Track Your Kids’ Addresses from Discord?
As parents, it’s important to keep track of our kids’ online activities to ensure their safety. One way to do this is by tracking their IP address on Discord. To find the IP address, you can use a Discord IP resolver or an IP logger. These tools allow you to see the IP address of each user’s Discord account, which can then be used to determine their location.
However, it’s important to note that using these tools can expose your own IP address as well, so it’s important to take precautions to ensure your own online safety.
The easiest way to get your user ID on Discord is by going to your settings and clicking on the “Appearance” tab. From there, you can click on “Developer Mode,” and then simply click on a user’s profile to see their user ID.
With the user ID, you can then use an IP grabbing tool to find their IP address. It’s important to use this information responsibly and only for the purpose of monitoring your child’s online behavior.
It’s also important to have open communication with your children about the dangers of the internet and to establish a set of rules and guidelines for their online activity.
