Being a movie freak, I have accounts on multiple OTT platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, HULU, and so on. I have faced the difficulties of taking a screenshot on Netflix, and I have found some amazing solutions to get rid of the problem.

In this article, I will be sharing the methods I have tried on to screenshot Netflix. All you need to do is continue reading the passage till the end.

How to Screenshot Netflix in Windows Computer?

Netflix doesn’t permit users to take screenshots due to prevent piracy. A simple screenshot might be harmless, but for those who are in the thought of making pirated content as their profitable business, these restrictions are to prevent them.

We, on the other hand, suffer from the situation. But don’t lose hope. After reading this part, you will be able to screenshot Netflix if you are a Windows user.

Here are the methods to take screenshots in Netflix for Windows users:

1. Run Your Browser in Sandbox

Sandbox is an application that runs your programs or opens files without affecting the data. It is sort of an isolated testing environment for your windows applications. There are other applications available to do the job.

But, this one is free to use and more elegant than other apps. You need to download the application from the official website and install it on your PC. After that, run your browser with Sandboxie.

Here’s how you can run a browser with Sandboxie:

• Right-click on the browser shortcut from the desktop menu.
• Select Run sandboxed from the list. Your browser will run as usual but this time, there will be a yellow border around it.
• Sign in to your Netflix account with valid information and open the content you want to take a screenshot of.
• Press the usual method of taking a screenshot, that is Windows + Print Screen button with your keyboard.

Save the screenshot and open the folder where you saved the snapshots. Voila! There is no black screen image as earlier. Take as many screenshots as you want.

Sandbox application will not make any permanent changes to your system. Even if you launch the browser without sandbox, you won’t find any problem except the snapshot issue.

2. Install Browser Extension

This is by far the easiest method to capture a screenshot in Netflix, and you won’t have to download or install any additional software to take a snap.

There are tons of extensions available to ease your job, and you can choose any of them. But, to demonstrate the mechanism to you, I have picked the Fireshot browser extension. You will find this extension in every major browser.

Here’s how you can install fireshot and take a screenshot with it:

• Open the browser you are using to watch Netflix. In my case, that is Google Chrome.
• Click on the Apps from the upper left side of the browser. Go to the Web store when the next window appears.
• Search for Fireshot in the box and press When you find the extension click on Add to Chrome.
• Log in to your Netflix account and go to the part of the content you intend to screenshot.
• Click on the Extensions icon on the top right of your browser and select Fireshot.
• Select Capture entire page from the list when fireshot takes the screenshot display that a new window, save the image in your preferred format.

If you disable the graphics driver, there might be functions that won’t work properly but you will be able to take a screenshot.

• Press the Windows + X button and select Device Manager from the list.
• Select Display adapters to expand.
• Right-click on the driver and select Disable Driver.

Capture all the images you need and enable the driver with the same procedure when you are done.

If you are using a Mac for watching content on Netflix, then you will be pleased to know that there are several tools that can help you to take a snap on Netflix.

You can use Mac’s default screen capture tool to screenshot Netflix. Your built-in screenshot keyboard buttons will be sufficient to do the job.

Here’s how you can screenshot Netflix on a Mac:

• Open Netflix from your Mac browser and play the video you would like to screenshot.
• Press Command – Shift – 3 simultaneously to capture your entire screen.
• Press Command- Shift – 4 simultaneously if you want to cut only a certain portion of the screen.
• Go to the Recent folder of your computer to see the captured images.

Open the images to check if it has been captured properly or the same black screen appears. If it’s the second one, you can use a third-party application.

On iPhone

To capture a screenshot in Netflix with your iPhone, you need to update the Netflix app from the IOS store. Then you can open the app and play the video you would like to take a screenshot of. Press the Siri button + Volume up button at the same time to take a screenshot.

If that doesn’t work, download and install third-party screen recorder applications such as Record it, Go record, Du record.

Install and launch the app > Open Netflix > Go to the destined moment of the content > take a snap with the third-party app> save and enjoy.
