This is considered the most possible reason for this error. Lack of Administrative advantage can put Geforce Experience is fastened in preparing to install errors.
You could face this obstacle by running the software as an administrator.
Interrupted by Antivirus
Your PC’s antivirus can make an interruption to the upgrade process of Geforce Experience.
Not only the third-party Anti Virus, but Windows Defender also hold up the installation process sometimes.
The possible encounter to this issue is turning off the third-party Antivirus or Windows during installation.
Generally, the problem occurs for these two reasons.
As we know the reason behind the problem, now it’s easy for us to fix the issue.

How to Fix Geforce Experience Prepare to Install Error?
There are no specific methods to solve this issue.You can apply a couple of techniques to resolve the installation problem.
When I researched this issue,I found some simple methods.
These proven methods will help you to fix the problem within a few minutes.
Here are the methods to solve the prepare to install issue of Geforce Experience :
Open Geforce Experience with Run as Administrator option
When you try to update any drivers in Geforce Experience, the first requirement is Administrator Privilege. Without the administrative permissions, Geforce Experience is not more than a Junk file that does nothing.
There are two methods to give the app Administrative Privilege:
First Method:
Here is the First method of open Geforce Experience With Run As Administrator:
- Go to the Geforce Experience
- Right-click on it and a list will appear.
- Select the Run as Administrator option and click on it. A prompt for permission will appear.
- Select Yes for approval.

Second Method:
Here is the Second method of open Geforce Experience With Run As Administrator:
- Go to the Geforce Experience Shortcut menu on your PC. If there is no shortcut, then go to the Installation folder.
- Right-click on the shortcut or the .exe file.
- Go to the Properties and click on it, and a tab will appear on the screen.
- Select Compatibility from the Tab.
- Go to the bottom of the tab screen, and you will find the Run as administrator option under the Settings
- Tik on the right side of the menu.
- Press on Apply
- Hit the Ok

Disable Antivirus Temporarily
Antivirus of your PC treats different software as a threat to the system.
Geforce Experience is one of them. Sometimes, this Antivirus software is blocked the update or upgrade process of Geforce Experience.
For stopping this kind of Obstacle, there is a straightforward solution. Turning off the Antivirus for a temporary period of time.
Upgrade and update the Geforce Experience software during that time.
You can be turning off the Antivirus in various methods. In the post, I will discuss the most uncomplicated method among them.
Here are the steps of turning off the antivirus temporarily:
- Go to the search bar of your PC and search for Settings. You can simply go to Settings by pressing Windows+I keys
- Select Update & Security It is the last menu in Settings. Double click to open it.
- Select Windows Security from the menu list located on the left side. Open the Menu.
- Click on Virus & Threat Protection option under the Protection Areas
- Click on the Manage Settings An option called Real-time Protection will appear.
- Toggle the button to turn off the option.
Your Built-in Windows AntiVirus will stop scanning that moment.
Suppose you use a third-party antivirus, then. Turn it off for some moments. You will find the methods of Disabling this antivirus on their respective websites.
Most of the time, you can able to disable them by entering their settings.
Once you are successful to disable the Antivirus. Update your Geforce Experience. Hope this time you smile with success.

Complete the Pending Windows Update
Sometimes, this issue occurs for the pending windows updates. If you do not update your system correctly and don’t keep it up-to-date, then you may suffer from this kind of annoying PC situation.
So, Update your system properly.
Here are the methods of updating your system:
- Go to the search bar of your PC and search for Settings. You can simply go to Settings by pressing Windows+I keys
- Select Update & Security It is the last menu in Settings. Double click to open it.
- Select Windows Update from the menu list located on the left side. Open the Menu. If there are any updates for windows that will appear on the screen.
- Press Install Now button to download and install the update.
- Click View Optional Updates to check for other Updates.
After completing the update now try to upgrade the game driver in Geforce Experience.

Update the Graphics Drivers
When your Graphics Driver is outdated then Geforce Experience is not working properly.
So you should Update Graphics Drivers Properly.
Here are the methods of Update your Graphics Driver:
- Go to the search bar of your PC.
- Write Device Manager and search for it. Device Manager will appear on Prompt Screen.
- Press Open to go into it.
- Select Display Adapter from the list and click on it to expand.
- Right-click on it now and select update Driver.
Your Nvidia Graphics Driver will be updated through these processes.
You can also Update the Graphics Driver manually through download the driver from the Nvidia website. But before this end all the Tasks of Geforce from the task manager.
