Step 1: Open file location
You first have to go to the precise file location and then delete a file to make the changes.
Here’s the way you can follow to enter the game folder and delete the required file:
- Press the Windows key and type Genshin Impact.
- Right-click on it and choose Open file location.
- Right-click on the shortcut and choose Open file location
- Enter the Genshin Impact Game
- Delete the exe file and copy the folder path for future uses.
Step 2: Open Steam and check the options
You need to open the Steam application and check some options to make sure you choose the controller as a Controler Type later.

- Go back to the Settings tab and then return to the main page.
- Click on the Power button and choose Exit Big Picture.
- Click the + sign, which indicates ADD A GAME on the bottom left corner.

Now you have to switch the control type from keyboard to controller.
Here are the baby steps you need to take to switch the control type:
- Right-click on the Genshin Impact and navigate to Manage > Controller Configuration. Change any configuration you wanna make.
