When an email is marked as spam for some suspicious files attached, it will directly receive all the upcoming emails from the same sender in the Junk Mail folder.
Sometimes, for emails that have not been opened for a long time, Outlook will move them to the Junk Mail folder. Those emails are not important, which is why they have been moved.

To disable Junk Mail in Outlook 2016, you will need to change the level of protection in the junk email filter. Sometimes you search for essential emails in the inbox and can’t find them because all the emails have stored in the Junk Mail folder.
Outlook offers top-notch protection against malicious and suspicious emails. When Outlook’s junk filter finds some irrelevant emails, it sends them to the junk mailbox. If you don’t want this, you can turn off this junk mail.

If you use an updated version of Outlook, like a 2019 or later version, you can turn off the junk filter from filtering out important emails. So, look at the below steps to disable junk mail filtering in Outlook 2019 or later versions.
Here are the steps to disable junk mail in Outlook 2019 or later versions:
- Click on the Home tab from the Ribbon.
- Click on three horizontal flat dots from the right side.
- Click on Junk > Junk E-Mail Options.

How to Disable Junk Mail in Outlook Web
As an Outlook web version or Office 365 user, you can also disable junk mail or turn off junk mail filtering for some specific emails. But there is no direct turn-off filtering option, just like Outlook 2016. To stop filtering important emails into the junk mail folder, you can add senders to the safe sender list.
Here are the steps to disable junk mail in Outlook web:
- Click on the gear icon from the right corner of Ribbon.
- Select View all settings from the bottom.
- Go to Mail > Junk email.
- Click the +Add button under the Safe senders and domains section to add senders into this zone.
- Type the sender’s full email or just the domain name in the box.
- Click on the +Add button under the Safe mailing lists section and type mail lists in the box.
- leave the two boxes unchecked from the last Filters section.
After adding safe senders and safe mailing lists in the junk mail’s exception section, all the necessary mail will go directly to the Inbox from now.
