To send invitations from Google Meet, go to the Google Meet website. Click on New meeting and select Start an instant meeting. Press the Add others icon from the pop-up box, type email addresses, and click Send email. The recipients will receive the invite to join you on Google Meet.
Other than Google Meet, you can also invite someone using Google Calendar and Gmail.

Here are the methods to invite anyone to Google Meet:
1. Use Google Meet
The first way to send an invitation is directly from the Google Meet website or application. You can send the invitation before or during the meeting. It is one of the key advantages of Google Meet.
For this method to work, you must start a meeting first, and you should be the host of the meeting.
Let’s see how to do that.
Follow the process to send an invitation to someone to Google Meet:
- Go to the Google Meet website or open the Google Meet app.
- Select the New meeting option.
- Click Start an instant meeting.
- Select the Add others option from the pop-up box.
- Enter the email address of the person you want to invite to the meeting.
- Press Send email.
A meet link will appear if you click Create a meeting for later option. Copy the link and share it via any other online medium. In this way, you can also send an invite to any person you want to your meeting.
If the pop-up box doesn’t appear, or you accidentally close it, click on the people icon and press the Add people option. You can also send the invite from there.

2. Use Google Calendar
Another way to send an invite is by using Google Calendar. The main advantage of using the calendar to call someone for a meeting is that you can create & send a Google Meet invite in advance.
Take the following steps to send an invite to Google Meet using Google Calendar:
- Open your browser and go to the Google Calendar website.
- Press on a date when you are going to arrange the meeting.
- Click on Add Google Meet video conferencing option.
- Type the email address in the Add guest field.
- Select Save.
- Press Send from the Would you like to send invitation emails to Google Calendar guests box.

3. Use Gmail
If you are using Gmail for your email purposes, you can also use that to invite people to Google Meet. This method’s primary benefit is inviting someone to a meeting even if you are not the host.
You will just need the meet link, send the invite in Gmail to your colleagues or students, and tell them to join Google Meet using it.
Pursue the following way to forward an invitation to Google Meet using Gmail:
- Go to the Google Meet website.
- Select the New meeting option.
- Copy the meeting link from the meeting-ready pop-up window. Alternatively, click on the (i) icon from the bottom right corner. You can also copy the meeting link from the Meeting details window.
- Go to your Gmail account.
- Click on Compose.
- Type the email address and paste the invite link in the message body.
- Press Send.

Rules for Inviting and Admitting People to Google Meet
Before sending an invite or admitting people to your meeting sessions, you must know some basic rules via Google Meet.
Users often get confused about certain things when they start meetings on Google Meet and ask questions about why the app isn’t working.
That’s why you should be aware of those conditions.

Anyone Can Invite Someone to Google Meet
Anyone can invite anyone else while a meeting is going on to Google Meet. You can invite someone to google meet without a google account.
Only the Host or Moderator Can Give Access
The person who starts the meeting on Google Meet is the moderator or host of the meeting. Only he can admit someone to the meeting.
Those who have the vcfa.edu email system can start and attend meetings. They can automatically attend the meeting without the need for a moderator.
Gmail & Non-Gmail Users Can’t Attend Meeting Without the Moderator
If you receive the invitation from your Gmail, you can automatically enter the meeting while the moderator is present. When the moderator is absent, you can’t enter directly.
The same rule applies to non-Gmail users.
Non-Gmail users must be allowed entry by the moderator while in the meeting. Any general attendees can’t admit them to the meeting.
When the moderator leaves, the room will lock. He can come back anytime and allow the remaining guests to enter the meeting.
