How to Fix GoToMeeting Audio and Video Issue

There might be severe misconfigurations inside your system setting. To resolve GoToMeeting Audio and Video Issue, try these tested methods following.

Check Windows Microphone and Camera Settings

If GoToMeeting can not access your system microphone and camera, it will not work as it was intended to. Windows keeps restricted access for microphone and camera in the first place for any new app.

The camera and microphone are the sensitive peripherals for your system, and you can get tracked or be under surveillance through your camera and microphone. This is why Windows 10 keeps blocking the access of these input devices from any third-party app at first.

But if you need to use GoToMeeting, you must need to grant access to your camera and microphone from Windows settings. Introduce the GoToMeeting app as a safe thing and let Windows know that you know the subsequences.

Granting permissions for cameras and microphones in Windows 10 is not that critical. You just need to get into system settings, check some settings, and tweak some toggles.

Here are the steps to check Microphone and Camera Permissions on Windows:

  • Go to Start Menu > Settings.
  • Select Privacy.
  • Click on App Permissions.
  • Select Microphone
  • Now see if all the permissions are correctly granted or not. Allow apps to access your microphone and Allow desktop apps to access your microphone. privacy-icrophone-allow
  • Go to the camera section now. Select Camera.
  • Turn on the toggle beside Allow apps to access your camera.allow-camera-access

You are done! You have successfully turned on your camera and microphone access from your Windows settings, and these permissions will help GoToMeeting run properly and behave normally.

Check Audio Settings in GoToMeeting App

You might use multiple audio output devices such as external speakers and wireless or wired headphones. There might be a misconfiguration inside the app that the wrong device was selected for audio output. Check if you have selected the correct device to rely on.

  1. It is very important to clearly explain the philosophy behind the technology. However this will not help the majority of the people. Giving direct directions for using the “Settings” control panel with differentiation for the various windows version is the way to go. The security and privacy measurements are most applicable I think for Windows 10/11. The other problem is that in case a malfunction or inadequate response of the system occurs is the ability of analyzing the problem. Searching the internet for answers often not gives the right answers and judging the answers is not so obvious. Anyway your explanation was helpful that the next time I join a Gotomeeting I am able to fully communicate with the others.
