Samsung mobile is the first on the line to pick up the 5G network. So when your Samsung mobile is 5G enabled, it will connect to the 5G network first. Isn’t it natural?

Alas! When I first bought Samsung Samsung S21, I thought my 5G would automatically connect. But unfortunately, it still connects to the 4G/LTE network.

I’m guessing you’re one of us who faces the 5G connectivity issue.

Why isn’t 5G working on my Samsung Mobile?

Your device may not pick up a 5G signal if you are out in the coverage area. Again, your old Sim card may not support 5G service because of old hardware. Also, if your current plan doesn’t include a 5G service, you cannot connect to the 5G network.

Here are the reasons why 5G isn’t working on your Samsung Mobile:

Data plan

You have to use a data plan that includes a 5G network service. When your package doesn’t include 5G service, you can’t connect to the 5G network. So first, check your network plan if you can’t connect 5G with your phone.

Old SIM

Old Sim can’t always support network updates. 2G SIM automatically updates to a 3G, and 3G SIM automatically updates to 4G.

However, You can’t upgrade 3G SIM to 5G. You need to replace the SIM in order to get 5G network coverage.

Coverage area

The 5G network covers not all areas. You need to be in the zone to enjoy 5G network service. So, you should check the 5G coverage area when facing a 5G connectivity problem.

Signal blockage

You may face signal blockage in industrial or commercial areas. Commercial areas have densely constructed buildings that prevent the 5G signal.

When you’re in those areas, try to go up if you are not getting into the 5G network.

Weather condition

Bad weather conditions like storms or heavy lightning hamper network waves. 5G waves can clash with the lightning, or the wind can direct it in the opposite direction.

So, you will face difficulties connecting into the 5G network during storms or other natural disasters.

Cell tower distance

When you are pretty far from your nearest cellphone tower, 5G waves won’t reach your phone. Again when you are driving, then your cell tower changes rapidly. At that time, your cell phone won’t be able to connect to a 5G network.

How to fix 5G Not Working Samsung Mobile

Here are the fixes for 5G Not Working on mobile:

1. Restart your Phone

If you can’t connect to any 5G network out of the blue, restarting your phone will solve your problem. Restarting a phone gives the system a fresh start. So, if you can’t connect to any 5G network out of the blue, I hope restarting your phone will solve your problem.

Your phone’s network IC catches the wave from a cell tower. When you use your cellphone continuously, Network IC becomes heated, and hot Network IC can’t always catch the 5G wave.

Restarting your phone will lower the temperature of the network IC, and your phone will catch a 5G signal then.restart-your-phone-samsung-mobile

2. Check your network package

You must have 5G service enabled in your package to connect with a 5G network. So make sure your mobile operator gives you a subscription with 5G. Otherwise, you can’t use 5G services on your phone.

3. Check SIM slot

Some dual-SIM mobile phones don’t support 5G on both SIMs. Also, your phone’s 1st sim slot is more powerful than the second slot.

So If you want to use 5G without any hassle, you should put that in your 1st SIM slot.check-sim-slot-samsung-mobile

5. Reset Network Settings

Sometimes you anonymously tweak your network setting, and this tweaked setting can create a problem connecting to the 5G network. So by resetting your network, you can solve 5G Not Working Samsung. Here, I have used Samsung S21 as a demo device.

Here are the steps to reset the network settings in your Samsung phone:

  • Navigate to Setting.
  • Tap General.
  • Scroll down to the Reset button and click it.
  • Press Reset Network Settings.reset-network-settings
  • Select Confirm.

6. Disable Power Saving Mode

The 5G network consumes more battery life than other network types. So, when you use power saving mode, your phone might not connect to the 5G network.

Here are the steps to disable power saving mode in Samsung mobile:

  • Select Setting.
  • Navigate to Power Saving Mode.
  • Click Ok.

  2. 5g will not work on my s21 ultra. It has been 2 years now. It shows 5g or 5guc but pages will not load and calls drop unless I disable 5g in the network settings and only use lte, 3g, 2g.
It’s ridiculous to pay all this money for a 5g phone and 5g services that do not work. Sprint/tmobile tech support have been unable to resolve the issue over 2 years trying.
