Dendro Characters in Genshin Impact [Ranked by Abilities]

Until last year, players could not play any characters from the element Dendro. With the release of version 3.0, the game finally revealed the Sumeru region, which spawned characters with this ability.

Until today a total of eight Dendro characters have been revealed. Each of them has a different set of powers and wields different weapons.

What are Dendro Characters in Genshin Impact?

Dendro is the element behind the strengths of all these characters. They channel the power of nature and plants to stun the enemies in their path. It is one of the seven elements that exist in the world of Genshin Impact.

The Sumero region is where the Dendro element is rooted. According to the lore, this region is ruled by the Archon Kusanali. She is the youngest among all gods who have dominion over the elements in the game.

Dendro characters bring new elemental reactions, such as Catalyze and Bloom. These are basically souped-up attacks. When you combine two characters and switch between them, the enemy will deal with larger damage.

Alhaitham

Alhaitham is a rare character if you want to deal DMG to enemies on the ground. He uses a  chisel mirror to deliver the blows using his sword. His attacks have greater damage and have a high rate of Dendro application. This is particularly due to the high DPS that he delivers. Plus, his elemental reactions are sure to deal heavy DMG to nearby foes.

Nahida

She is another Dendro character who was introduced at the Sumeru launch. She is one of the best users of the Dendro attacks. She uses catalysts to perform the attacks.

Her elemental bursts have great AoE, which means a large horde can be damaged when put into effect. You need smaller energy for the bursts, and the cooldown time is relatively short. Also, do not forget that she is very effective in the Dendro application, even from a distance.

Baizhu

You should choose Baizhu if you want to use it as a healer. It does not have a high Dendro application like some other characters here, so keep that in mind. If you pair it as a secondary character, it buffs up the Dendro from the main character. Also, it can accentuate elemental reactions from others in the party.

Tighnari

One of the earliest Dendro characters, it has a reputation as a high DPS, particularly to single targets. When used as a Dendro spreader, it can apply from multiple sources. It wields the same weapon as Collei.

But it has limited damage when it is at a distance from the enemies. Its elemental DMG gives the most hits when combined with other party members.

Collie

She is one of the first Sumeru characters. Her charged attacks are useful when solving puzzles. Though she may not be employed as a high DPS character, her AoE makes a great sub-Dendro applier. Particularly the elemental skill and burst are useful when doing damage from a distance. The only problem is the long cooldown times between elemental reactions.

Elemental Skill

• Floral Brush(1 Dendro DMG with floral-ring)

Elemental Burst

• Trump-Card Kitty (Throws her Cuilein-Anbar doll, dealing AoE Dendro DMG)

Passive

• Gliding Champion of Sumeru (20% Stamina reduction during gliding)
• Floral Sidewinder (Trigger a reaction during Floral Ring dealing Dendro DMG)
• The Languid Wood (Zone duration by 1s)

Kaveh

Kaveh has a multi-purpose use in parties. It can act as a primary high DPS and also as a spreader for blooms and elemental skills. The self-healing capability is particularly useful during bloom explosions.

He does not need healers, so you can pair it with another character with high damage to enhance the bloom damage. The only problem is that the off-field attacks do not deal as much damage.

She is one of the characters with a good Dendro application and good healing capabilities among its party members. Also, her experimental burst deals good damages. But if you are looking to use her from a distance, then the Dendro application is minimal. Unless you have a high constellation, it does not increase her DMG.

Yaoyao

Yaoyao has good healing capabilities, which make her a nice addition to many parties. Add in her elemental bursts, which can render significant DMGs. Also, her constellation at low levels provides good buffs to primary DPS characters, which makes her super effective from a far distance. Only keep in mind that the off-field characters will lose HPs, and she cannot heal them.

Which Elemental Reactions Come With Dendro Characters?

Elemental reactions are when you combine two attacks using different elements. This is often made possible when you switch two characters and use their respective attacks. Then the overall effect will cause more damage to your enemies.

These damages can be increased by adding artifacts. Then the damages will amplify further.

You can also use Dendro characters for elemental reactions. The table below shows that.

Which Elemental Resonance Do You Get with Dendro?

Elemental resonances are bonuses that you receive once you have the same elemental characters in your party. The same is true for Dendro elements.

If you equip two Dendro characters in your build, you get the Sprawling Greenery effect.

• Burning, Quicken, or Bloom reactions, will give all nearby party members 30 Elemental Mastery for 6s.
• Triggering Aggravate, Spread, Hyperbloom, or Burgeon reactions will land nearby party members 20 Elemental Mastery for 6s.

Note that the durations mentioned here will be separate from each other and have separate counters for them.
