How to Fix WhatsApp Notification Not Working on Mobile

There are several reasons behind the WhatsApp notification issue. I have mentioned some quick and simple fixes you need to try to solve the problem.

I have mentioned the solutions for two of the most used mobile operating systems, Android and iOS. You’ll find the fixes for the desktop or web versions later in this article.

Here are the steps to fix the WhatsApp notification issue:

1. Check the internet connection

Sometimes the WhatsApp notification issue can be caused by the weakness of the internet or low speed. As we all know, WhatsApp needs internet connectivity for voice calls or messages.

You must need robust internet connectivity to get notifications from WhatsApp. So make sure you have a stable internet connection. Switch to mobile data if WiFi is not working.

Check out our separate post on how to delete week old WhatsApp messages.

2. Disable airplane mode

Enabling Airplane mode disrupts internet and cellular connections, which means you can’t use the internet for voice calls or messages on WhatsApp. You need to disable the Airplane mode if it is already enabled.

Here are the steps to disable airplane mode:

On Android

  • Open Settings.
  • Go to Connection and sharing.
  • Tap on the Airplane mode to turn it off if already enabled.android-turn-off-airplane-mode

Alternatively, swipe down your notification bar and tap on the Airplane icon to turn it off.

3. Disable DND

DND is an excellent feature for those who want less confusion from their mobile phone. Enabling this feature will paralyze all the notifications you can get from apps or people, depending on your chosen setting.

If you do not receive notification, consider disabling this DND feature.

Here are the steps to disable DND mode:

On Android

  • Open Settings.
  • Tap on the Sound and vibration option.
  • Scroll down and tap the Do not disturb option to turn it off.android-turn-off-dnd

Disabling DND mode from the control center is an easy way. Swipe down your control center and tap on the DND icon.

4. Turn off battery saver mode

Turning on battery save mode can help your device run a little longer when your battery runs out. Turning this mode on will appropriately limit the device’s functionality, such as killing apps to run in the background.

Here are the steps to turn off battery saver mode:

On Android

  • Launch Settings.
  • Go to Battery.
  • Click on the Settings icon inside the battery option.
  • Tap on the Battery saver to disable battery saver mode.android-battery-saver-turn-off

Here are the steps to disable restrict data usage:

On Android

  • Open Settings.
  • Go to Connection and Sharing.

Here are the steps to fix WhatsApp notifications not working on PC:
